Pairing Low-Maintenance Plants with Turf
A green lawn can look more natural when it is framed by plants that suit the site. Plant choice also affects shade, debris and irrigation needs.
Plan the planting areas
Leave room for mature plant size and access for trimming. Use a clear edge between turf and planting beds so soil and rock do not drift across the lawn.
Consider water and sun
Choose plants with a local nursery based on exposure, soil and watering needs. Drip irrigation for plants should be planned separately from the artificial turf surface.
Think about upkeep
Low-maintenance does not mean no maintenance. Ask about leaf drop, thorns and how a plant will look next to your pavers and rock through the year.
